Fucked for Four More Years

I find the re-election of President George Bush utterly amazing and disgusting. Granted, Sen. Kerry was no saint. But in spite of all of the hardcore evidence presented about President Bush, the country has re-elected him. (I know some people say "Well Kerry isn't good either." It frankly doesn't matter when putting him up against a guy like Bush.) Evidence such as: A. He lied to the public about what he knew and didn't know before violating the rules of the Geneva Convention while simultaneously ignoring legitimate threats from other countries that DO have WMDs and are willing to use them; B. He's amassed the single largest national deficit the US has ever seen; and C. He's successfully alienated almost all of the country's former allies, leaving the country isolated and vulnerable to attack. Despite the evidence, more than half the general public (and very little more than half, I might add) has voted to keep this man in power. A very dangerous decision and one that will likely lead America down a very tragic road. May God (if there's one out there and there doesn't seem to be one after this election) have mercy on the United States of America, and any country that gets in the way of this arrogant little child. Does anyone else notice that all the states for Bush are country's that are not being threatened by terrorism and are mainly bible belt, hicky states, ie Nebraska, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Oklahoma, the Dakotas, and the states for Kerry are the prominent states that ARE being threatened by terrorism, ie Massachussets, California and New York. Thanks bible belt, thanks a lot.

All of my religious friends skip this paragraph because I'm gonna be honest and you're most likely not going to like the truth. In my humble opinion that I am not claiming to be a fact whatsoever, it's just my opinion, religion is the biggest scam Man has ever fallen victim to. The fact that Evangelical Christians hold so much political power is absolutely despicable. The Christians overwhelmingly voted for Bush because they were voting against Stem Cell Research, Gay Marriage, and Abortion Rights. I think this is sick and sad. I think that religion essentially a system of fear used to make people feel bad about the lifestyles they are leading. It's also a crutch many people use to help them out of bad situations. This war in Iraq may be argued as being about Oil. But I think people are overlooking the fact that religion also has something to do with it. People have to remember that we are voting for a President not a Pope. Indeed, God help us all.

A vote for Bush is nothing more than a reaffirmation of support that it's ok to do all of the above things and never be held accountable for any of it. Even he said once that he will let history (meaning future generations) judge him. Regrettably, with this man in power for four more years, they may never have that opportunity. I have to wonder if people aren’t paying attention, or were there simply too many of them who believe a vote for Bush is a vote against Kerry, or a vote for the Republican Party, or a vote on one of several moral issues, etc. Is it justifiably moral to vote for a man who says Jesus Christ is his role model and opposes abortion and gay marriage, if that same man doesn’t follow Jesus’ teaching of being accountable to one another and acts dishonestly to achieve personal gain? This isn't just four more years we have to deal with, Bush is going appoint the new Supreme Court and who knows who else. It is a tragic day for the United States of America.
